Application Process

The best way to begin your admissions journey is to experience PUCS in person. We invite you to schedule a campus tour or talk with our school leadership to see how our Christian curriculum, close-knit community, and small class sizes set us apart.

  • Applications open November 1 for the next school year.
  • Applications are accepted November through late May for the next school year. Outside of these months, parents can contact the school to learn whether space is available.
  • A $50 non-refundable application fee is required. You will receive a PayPal invoice or may pay by check or cash.

Educational Assessment 

After receiving your application, we will reach out to schedule a student assessment on campus. This helps us understand how to support your child’s success in our classrooms.

Kindergarten applicants will be assessed for classroom readiness using games, puzzles, and conversation to determine a child’s grasp of one-to-one correspondence, the thread of a story, level of letter and number recognition, pattern recognition, and general maturity level. We do not require children to know all letters and numbers.

Grades 1–8 applicants will be assessed in the areas of reading, math, vocabulary, and writing skills. The assessment is done using a standard reading inventory, a short grade-level word recognition and vocabulary test, a prompt-based short writing piece, and engagement with the instructor in conversation. Math is assessed using components of the Everyday Math curriculum for grades 1-5 or grade level math for grades 6-8.

Please bring any academic records with you to the appointment.

The Admissions Decision

You will receive your admissions decision by email and/or mail.

If your child is accepted, you will have 7 days to confirm their enrollment by submitting a $100 non-refundable deposit.

Applying for Financial Aid (Optional)

After your child is accepted, you may apply for tuition assistance via our FACTS portal.

• FACTS charges a $40 annual application fee.

Mid-Year Admissions

We welcome new students mid-year when space allows (PreK–7th grade only).

If you’re interested in a mid-year transfer:
1. Call 412-244-1779 ext. 201 to express interest and ask about availability and aid.
2. Submit current school records (academic, behavioral, and attendance).
3. If your child is in good standing at their current school, we’ll invite them to complete an academic assessment.
